Hayat on the hard

We had to leave Turkey pretty quick right after we purchased HAYAT (Tolerance/SeaBird) in March as the Pandemic-Covid 19 was starting to force the closure of borders.  We'll be back soon...

SyHayat dodged a bullet!  

On Friday October 30, 2020 afternoon quake that struck Turkey’s Aegean coast and north of the Greek island of Samos registered a magnitude 7.0  It toppled buildings in Izmir, Turkey’s third-largest city, and triggered a tsunami in the Seferihisar district and on the Greek island. Hundreds of aftershocks followed.

As far as we can see from various videos on YouTube and Facebook SyHayat has survived the horrible earthquake and the following Tsunami.  Lisa and I are thinking of the people of Izmir and surrounding areas. We are sorry to hear that so many people passed away. RIP. The tsunami near Seferihisar was devastation at Teos Marina. We hope for a speedy recovery to all affected. Praying

Purchased a Salar Buccaneer

Let The Dream Begin...

Well we did it.  We went out and purchased a new to us Salar Buccaneer Sailboat.  Although we will not be able to sail her until Spring of 2021.  She is currently on land at the Teos Marina near Izmir, Turkey.  Now we are making lists, learning about the systems on board and daydreaming.
